Description

Type 97 Aircraft Machine Gun. All steel rectangular riveted box construction body with a drilled air cooled barrel jacket and a left hand cocking handle. The feed block is fitted but the front top cover on the receiver and the breech block are missing. Overall surface rust.

History / Summary

This type of weapon was basically a copy of the Vickers Class E gun and usually fitted in fixed positions in Japanese Navy aircraft.
