Description
Mauser Model Kar 98k Rifle. Bolt action receiver marked bcd 45 and the serial number is stamped on the barrel. This rifle has a laminated stock and a Zf 42 telescopic sight, engraved 27-1079 J2, fitted to the rear sight bed. The telescope mounting bracket is marked 4358a.
History / Summary
The Kar 98k was the standard German infantry rifle of the Second World War. The Zf 42 telescope was not really a sniper sight but was used to obtain greater accuracy when sighting.
