Description
Model 1889 Mauser bolt action rifle. Receiver stamped HOPKINS and ALLEN ARMS CO. NORWICH. CONN.U.S.A. The serial number is stamped on the barrel, receiver, stock, butt plate and bolt. It is complete with a cleaning rod and brown leather sling.
History / Summary
This type of Mauser rifle is one of a batch ordered by the Belgian Goverment in exile in England during the First World War. These were the only Mauser rifles produced in America and examples are rare.
