Korbecke, Germany. 1943-05-16. A reconnaissance photograph showing water gushing through the breached wall of Mohne Dam after a successful attack by Avro Lancaster aircraft from No. 617 Squadron, Royal Air Force (RAF) on the night of the 16th-17th May, 1943. Many Australians participated in the raid which devastated a large area of the Ruhr Valley.
