Description
Arisaka Type 97 Sniper Rifle. Bolt action receiver marked with a Chrysanthemum and the serial number. This rifle is fitted with a monopod at the fore-end and a telescopic sight. The cleaning rod is missing. The rifle's woodwork is cracked just forward of the magazine, rendering the weapon unusable.
History / Summary
This type of rifle was used by Japanese forces in Manchuria in the 1930s and the early part of the Second World War in New Guinea.
