Speech given by Colonel Cole to the United Services Institute May 1980 following his return as commander of the Australian Contingent to Southern Rhodesia/Zimbabwe (ASCSR). Provides background to the country, the Commonwealth Monitoring Force, relations with the Patriotic Front and the Rhodesian Security Forces, the operational area, the methods used operationally for monitoring and the extraction of the force.
