Description
Notes written by Dr Maffrey to complement and supplement Peter Firkin's book of prisoners of the Japanese in Borneo (Sandakan and Ranau and the death marches), "From Hell to Eternity". Written based on Maffey's letters sent home from Kuching Camp in weeks following August 1945 liberation. He covers the voyage from Singapore to Sandakan, the movement of E Force, illnesses and move to Kuching and refers to relevant page in Firkins book.
