Gras Mle 1874 Cavalry Carbine : French Army
Description
Gras Model 1874 single shot bolt action cavalry carbine. Action marked MANUFACTURE D'ARMES St Etienne Mle 1874. The barrel knox form is stamped MA S1895 and the serial number. The butt has a small brass asterisk stud above the number 78822 on the left side. The barrel has been changed from the original 11 mm to 8 mm to suit the Lebel cartridge. The carbine is complete with a cleaning rod and brown leather sling.
