Nambu Type 94 Pistol
Description
Nambu Type 94 semi automatic pistol. Solid machined blued steel frame with a cocking knob at the rear with serrated edges. The right side of the frame is stamped with the Nagoya Torimatsu Factory mark, 17.6 (1942 June) and the serial number. The left side has a safety catch lever and three Japanese characters indicating Type 94. The grips are black chequered plastic and has a six round detachable magazine. A square lanyard loop is fixed to the rear of the frame.
History / Summary
This type of pistol is one of the worst service weapons produced by the Japanese. Originally designed for commercial sale in 1937 few were sent outside Japan. They were used by the Imperial Japanese Army to supplememt the Type 14 pistols.
