Covers the recruiting and embarkation of the First Queensland Mounted Infantry (QMI), arrival in Cape Town, General Metheun's advance to Kimberley, QMI action at Sunnyside Kopjes, march with General French to Kimberley, then to Bloomfontein, then to Kroonstad, then to Pretoria, in the Transvaal, the Battle of Diamond Hill, the arrival of the 4th Queensland Infantry Battalion, the 3rd QMI from Beira to Mafeking, Western Transvaal and action at Koster River and siege at Elands River Post, around Pretoria, the battle of Rhenosterkop in Eastern Transvaal, chasing General de Wet in Cape Colony, march to Pietersburg and Oliphants River Drifts, the action at Onverwacht. Includes maps, lists of units despatched, those who died and extracts of General Orders.
