Nambu Type 14 Pistol : Sasebo First Special Naval Landing Party
Description
Nambu Type 14 semi automatic pistol. Frame stamped with the Nagoya ordnance mark, the serial number and 13.4 indicating that it was made in April 1938. The pistol is complete with an aluminium bottom magazine and wooden grips. This particular example is unusual in that it does not have the enlarged 'cold weather glove' trigger guard common to most Type 14s.
History / Summary
This pistol was originaly issued to the Sasebo First Special Naval Landing Party. It was recovered from Rabaul at the end of the Second World War by the 5th Military History Field Team.
