Description
Short Magazine Lee-Enfield No 1 Mk III* bolt action rifle. Receiver marked with MA over Lithgow, SMLE III* 1953 under the bolt arm with the serial number on the breech ring. Coachwood furniture and no markings on the butt.
History / Summary
This rifle was one of the last batch of 1000 rifles manufactured at the Lithgow Small Arms Factory between 1953 to 1956 to prove the machinery and tools. There are no markings to indicate that it has been issued to a State or unit.
