Photograph which includes a written message from 1127 Private (Pte) Edgar Robert Adams, 8th Battalion, which was found in a bottle on the beach at Alexandria. It had been written while Pte Adams was held a prisoner of war by Turkish forces. Pte Adams died as a prisoner of war on 25 April 1915.
