View of the side of the 2/1st Australian Hospital ship Manunda. Well known on the Australian coast, the Adelaide Steamship Company's ship Manunda was requisitioned in May 1940 and converted into a fully equipped hospital ship. The vessel has been painted white with green bands and red cross in accordance with international naval regulations. The regulations also provide that green lights be placed along the decks.
