Seamans white duck trousers : SMS Emden, Kaiserliche Marine
Description
German Navy (Kaiserliche Marine) seaman's white duck trousers. The small yellow plastic buttons on the fly are concealed and the larger buttons on the waistband for braces are made from light brown plastic. A pocket has been let into the right side at the top of the side seam.

Taken from the ship's store in SMS Emden after she was defeated by HMAS Sydney off the Cocos Keeling Islands in November 1914.
