Snider-Enfield Mk II Long Rifle
Description
Snider-Enfield Long Rifle Mk II conversion. Lock marked Crown VR and 1861 over Enfield with 3 13. Mark II* breech manufactured by BSA&Co. Butt marked with the Enfield Armoury roundel and on the left side DC within a diamond. It is complete with firing pin protector, sling swivels and cleaning rod.
History / Summary
The Mk II breech rifles were a conversion from the old muzzle load Pattern 1853 Enfields and were used in considerable numbers in all the colonies of Australia except South Australia.
