Description

MAS 36 bolt action rifle complete with an integral cruciform bayonet and has the unusual configuration of having a forward facing bolt handle. The flat sided machined receiver is marked with MAS Mle 36, MAS Mll 1938 and the serial number. It has a wooden butt, fore end and top handguard. The bayonet is fitted into the fore end and is turned around when required for use. Complete with a brown leather sling.

This type of rifle was issued to the French infantry between the war years and also the period immediately after the Second World War in Indochina. It has the unusual configuration of having a forward facing bolt arm. The bayonet is located in a recess within the fore end and is turned around when required for use. It is locked in place by spring loaded lugs.
