Description
"Burnt rice and bamboo". Memoir of prisoner of war (POW) life based on notes made by Mr Cliveden Edward Sandilands who was a POW of the Japanese in Timor, Java, Singapore and Sumatra. He describes his experiences and those heard from fellow POWs. Sandilands was originally a member of 2/40 Battalion, part of Sparrow Force.
