Description
Studio portrait of 15249 Private (Pte) John Leslie Crow, 25th Battalion, of Hobart, Tasmania. An engine cleaner prior to enlistment on 3 February 1916, Pte Crow was killed in action, aged 19, on 3 May 1917 near Bullecourt, and has no known grave. He is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France. He wrote on the verso of this card to an unknown recipient "Ever yours with fondest love, Jack".
