Portrait of NX7188 Private (Pte) Aubrey Maxwell Dumbrell 2/1 Field Ambulance (left) and another Australian serviceman identified as Jack O'Donnell.
A labourer from Enmore, NSW, Pte Dumbrell embarked for overseas service on 10 January 1940. After serving in the Middle East, he embarked for Greece on 24 March 1941. Pte Dumbrell died of illness on 14 April 1941 and was buried at Phaleron War Cemetery, Athens, Greece.
