Harrington, Howard Francis (Craftsman, b.1913-d.1988)
Collection relating to the Second World War service of NX108454 Craftsman Howard Francis Harrington, Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, 129 Australian Brigade Workshop, c.1942-1945.
Collection consists of letters and poems written between Craftsman Harrington and his wife, Nea Lorraine Harrington (née Thorne), while he was serving in the Second World War, as well as a leaf skeleton contained within one of the letters and a telegram envelope. In their letters and poems to one another, Craftsman and Mrs Harrington write of their love for each other and their son, returning home, forgiveness, grieving for lives lost at Souda Bay during the Battle of Crete in 1941, and love for a mother.
