Description
Studio portrait of S/6502 Ordinary Seaman (OS) Kenneth John Leonard, Royal Australian Navy. Born in Hay, NSW, OS Leonard enlisted 4 May 1942 and served at various naval depots and training centres inlcuding HMAS Cerberus, HMAS Rushcutter, HMAS Melville as well as aboard HMAS Inverell. Following further training, he qualified as a radar operator and was promoted to Able Seaman (AB). AB Leonard continued to serve at the same and various other locations, including brief service with HMAS Penguin, HMAS Yandra and HMAS Quiberon, before being discharged on 20 Mar 1946.
