Victory Medal. Impressed around edge with recipient's name.
History / Summary
4717 Private Edward Donoghue enlisted in the AIF from Brisbane in November 1915 and embarked for overseas service with Reinforcements for 26 Battalion on 12 April 1916. He was taken on strength on the Western Front on 28 September and but was out of the line for most of the time between November 1916 and August 1917 due to illness and being wounded in the foot near Flers, France on 15 November. Donoghue was initially reported missing in action on 5 October 1917, near Passchendaele, Belgium, but was later confirmed killed. He is buried at Tyne Cot Cemetery.
