Langley, George Furner DSO (Captain, later Brigadier, b.1891 - d.1971)
Description
Letter written to one of his former school pupils from the Libyan Desert. Describes patrols to prevent Bedouin raids into Egypt, occupation of oases, heat and sandstorms, lack of fresh water, and his hope to soon be transferred to France as the threat of Turks invading Egypt has diminished.
