Description
Five members of the Voluntary Aid Detachment (VAD) attached to the 2/9th Australian General Hospital talking to men of the 2/28th Battalion across a barbed wire fence. The VAD's were quarantined for two weeks when they arrived at Kilo 89 Camp following the sad death of one of their members, SX14793 Private Joan Emily McEwin, from meningitis, on 22 November 1941.
