Portrait of 403012 Pilot Officer E. D. Dampier-Crossley DFC with a friend, Section Officer J. Bentley, WAAF OF Wembley Park, outside Buckingham Palace after the investiture at which he received his award of the Distinguished Flying Cross. Lieutenant Dampier Crossley was later killed whilst on operations on 11 August 1943.
