Description
Members of the 37th Battalion line the rails of the troopship HMAT Persic (A34) prior to her departure for England. Streamers stretch between the troops and the crowd farewelling them from the wharf. Most of the soldiers are wearing their greatcoats and numerous members of the crowd on the wharf are holding umbrellas. (Identical image held at P00997.08)
