Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of 2403 Private George James Tevelein, 38 Battalion. Collection consists of the original and a photocopied typed account, written by Tevelein, of the sinking of the hospital transport SS Warilda in August 1918. The SS Warilda sunk after being hit by a torpedo while transporting wounded soldiers from Le Harve to Southampton. The account provides an insight into the reactions of those on board.
