Description
Collection relating to the Second World War service of Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Hamilton. Collection consists of mixed papers principally dealing with Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Hamilton's service with 2/4 Casualty Clearing Station, and as a prisoner of the Japanese with `A' Force on the Burma-Thailand railway. Includes diaries, medical records, photographs, articles by and about Lt Col Hamilton, letters, notes, newspaper cuttings. An item listing in included in the first box.
Note: Original 2/4 Casualty Clearing Station diary written by Lt Col Hamilton as Senior Medical Officer "A" Force, covering 10 May 1942 - 27 August 1943, is held in Official Records collection: AWM54, Item: 253/1/6.
