Description
Funeral of 82280 Leading Aircraftman (LAC) John Ernest James Williamson of Kalgoorlie, WA, No. 85 Squadron RAAF at Karrakata War Graves cemetery. On July 4 1943, LAC Williamson was engaged in cleaning a .303 gun on a Boomerang aircraft (A46-77) when he was accidentally shot through the chest. The funeral was attended by the Commanding Officer, Squadron Leader Daly, Flying Officer Harrison, Warrant Officer Cleeve and 20 airmen of the squadron. Chaplain Goddard of No. 85 Squadron and Chaplain Timson of Headquarters Western Area, conducted the service at the grave.
