Turkish officer's belt buckle: Corporal John Sidney Wild, 7 Light Horse Regiment, AIF
Description
Turkish officer's gilded brass belt buckle, showing a five-pointed star within the horns of a crescent moon, on a stippled background. This device is encircled by a laurel wreath. The left side of the buck has a rectangular fitting where it would fit onto the belt. There is clasp fitting behing the right side of the buckle.
History / Summary
This buckle was taken from a Turkish officer captured during the First World War by 1696 Corporal John Sidney Wilde, 7 LHR.
