History / Summary

This pistol was apparently captured by Major Kennedy, a Coastwatcher in the Solomon Islands. He led a night attack on two barges full of Japanese troops. The barges were raked with machine gun fire and a small detachment of Solomon Islanders crawled within range and tossed hand grenades under the awnings. Both barges were captured. The pistol was found on one of the barges and used by Major Kennedy for the rest of the campaign. His exploits are described in Commander EA Feldt's book 'The Coastwatchers', and in 'Among Those Present', an official UK publication.
