NEW GUINEA. C.1944-01. LEFT TO RIGHT: WARRANT OFFICER RUBY HUDSON, WOMENS AUXILIARY AUSTRALIAN AIR FORCE (WAAAF); SISTER A. J. WHEATLEY, ROYAL AUSTRALIAN AIR FORCE NURSING SERVICE; SECTION OFFICER ALISON ALLEY, WAAAF. ALLEN AND HUDSON WERE POSTED TO PORT MORESBY BETWEEN 1943-12-22 AND 1944-01-20 TO ADVISE RAAF, ARMY AND UNITED STATES CATERING STAFF ON THE PREPARATION, COOKING AND PRESENTATION OF THE TINNED AND DRIED FOODS THAT MADE UP THE BULK OF THE DAILY RATIONS IN THE AREA.
