Description
Thesis "The Glory Girls". A study of a Red Cross Relief Unit and the Volunteer Aides (members of the Voluntary Aid Detachments or VAD's) who served on HMS "Glory" as part of the Relief Unit during the repatriation trips September to December 1945. Includes stories from some of "Glory"'s patients, many of whom were prisoners of war being repatriated. Also black and white photographs from the papers of some of the VAD's. M.
