Studio portrait of 16415 Private (Pte) William Shadlou Ransley (seated) and his son, 16416 Pte Francis Henry Ransley, both of Paddington, NSW. Pte William Ransley served with the 16th Field Ambulance, AIF, and Pte Francis Ransley with the 3rd Field Ambulance, AIF. Pte Francis Ransley was killed in action at Passchendaele on 31 October 1917. His father survived the war, but was killed in a motor car accident in 1930.
