Description

Collection relating to the Second World War service of 35027 Leading Aircraftsman Clifton Warwick Frank Wedd, Royal Australian Air Force, Darwin, 26 November 1942.

Wallet 1 of 1 - Consists of one letter from Wedd to his mother. In this letter Wedd shares long-held thoughts about the personal ramifications resulting from his enlistment and potential death, noting that whilst not afraid of death, it would be a large burden for loved ones to bear if he died. He reflects on his perceptions of the nature of life and death, and reveals moments of life and joy that he truly appreciated. He tells his mother that if he were to die, the places he visited and the activities he enjoyed should not bring pain to his family but rather joy because he enjoyed them.
