Captain Frederick Dudley Weedon Oatley
Studio portrait of Captain Frederick Dudley Weedon Oatley, 6th Light Horse, later Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Frederick Dudley Weedon Oatley, 56th Battalion, AIF. Lt Col Oatley died of illness on 28 March 1919 at St Kilda Private Hospital in Darlinghurst, NSW. Originally diagnosed with gas poisoning, it was later discovered to be a septic infection caused hydatid on the lung which had been acquired during war service.
