Description
Diary relating to the First World War service of Sister Australian Army Nursing Service (AANS) Evelyn Davies. In this diary Davies recalls her journey at sea during her embarkation beginning on 18 May 1915 to 20 [July] 1915. She writes about being frequently sick on board leaving Melbourne. Davies describes embarking with other nurses from Adelaide. The diary also provides a detailed description of the nursing uniform style, commenting that the uniforms were not as well make as the Melbourne uniforms. In the last few entries of this diary Davies writes about life belt drills, her time in London and passengers moved to another berth at Devonport.
