Ah .. that's better. Now for a little fresh air, and beauty is once more unadorned. Respirators may be an important part of military equipment but really, a girl doesn't look her best with her head in a bag. The women practicing respirator drill are, left to right: VFX8394 Sister Lilian Elaine McPhail (died of injuries in a car crash at El Kantara on 1 September 1941, whilst attached to 2/2nd AGH); VX17199 Sister Gladys Elva Mole; VFX382 Sister Margaret Blythe Cuthbert; VX266 Anna Elizabeth Whiteside; VX374 Margaret Elizabeth Josephs; and VFX374 senior nursing sister Dorothy Vines; all of the 2/1st Casualty Clearing Station.
