Black and white photocopies of letters sent to his fiance while on active service in Vietnam with 1 Field Squadron Workshop and 5 RAR Light Aid Detachment, mainly based at Nui Dat but also Vung Tau and Fire Base Suzie. Describes training, propaganda, his attitude to war as a conscript, work as an armourer, attitude to Vietnamese, mail, patrols, ambushes, rocket attacks, leave, daily routine. Many letters have pages missing.
