Exit Wounds
'Exit Wounds' is a short dramatised documentary in a stylized theatre form, and may be described as experimental non-fiction.
The subject matter is the impact of post-traumatic stress on solider-turned-actor, David Villanti, who served as an Army Medic in Rwanda during the country's civil war. 'Exit Wounds' features actor Graham Gall as David, filmed in interview with film maker Pattie Collins, and David Villanti as himself, looking on. The Vietnam Veterans' Motorcycle Club also feature as themselves in the final scenes outside the Australian War Memorial.
The film has screened at several Australian and international festivals, including Ethnografilm Festival (Paris, 2016); UK International Veterans Festival, (Wales, 2016); Veterans Film Festival (Australian War Memorial, 2016) and the Canberra International Film Festival (2016).
