Description
Sympathy card with photograph relating to R971 Captain Alfred Clarence Youdale MC and Two Bars, Royal Flying Corps. A commercial traveller from Ashfield, New South Wales, Youdale enlisted on 8 January 1915 and was posted to the 7th Light Horse Regiment. He returned to Australia on 20 January 1916 and re-embarked on 12 August 1916. Transferring to the Royal Flying Corps in February 1917, Youdale was awarded the Military Cross and two Bars, before he was killed in action on 23 December 1917.
