Collection relating to the First World War service of Colonel Joseph Lievesley Beeston CMG, VD, 4 Field Ambulance, Egypt, Gallipoli, 1915-1916. Collection of document and a diary relating to Beeston's service with the Australian Army Medical Corps from 1914 to 1916. The collection includes a detailed record of Beeston's experiences as a senior medical officer during the Gallipoli campaign, providing insights into the treatment of the wounded, comments on the medical services, and conditions on the peninsula. Beeston's diary covers his recuperation in the United Kingdom and Ireland after he was evacuated from Gallipoli sicl in September 1915, and his return voyage to Australia in 1916.
