[Sound recording] The Boys of the Dardanelles
Recording of the song titled 'The Boys of the Dardanelles', created as part of the Music and the First World War project. Lyrics written by Harry Taylor with music composed by C W MacCarthy. Produced by Chris Latham, with Andrew Goodwin as vocalist and Alan Hicks on piano. This recording was made at Flat Rock Studios, Sydney, on 19 December 2018. The work is performed in the spirit of the time with some changes made for the modern ear.
Chris Latham, producer of this recording, notes: 'This is a good song, very pleasing. It builds and then is repeated. Someone who knows exactly what they are doing has composed this song. It is a happy little song with a certain charm about it. It is a very well written song that is entirely of the period it was written in.'
