[Sound recording] Over the top march
Description
Recording of the song titled 'Over the top', created as part of the Music and the First World War project. Music composed by Ezra Read. Produced by Chris Latham, with Alan Hicks on piano. This recording was made at Flat Rock Studios, Sydney, on 28 August 2018. The work is performed in the spirit of the time with some changes made for the modern ear.
Chris Latham, producer of this recording, notes: 'This is an entirely fine march. It is somewhat notable in that it has been written in 6/8 time. If you are going to play marches, then this is a good march. It is a popular tune. The trio is a contrasting trio that has very attractive material. The piece has been written by a skilled professional.'
