Description

Recording of the instrumental piece titled 'Turkish Patrol', created as part of the Music and the First World War project. The music was composed by Theodor Michaelis and arranged for piano by Diedrich Krug. Produced by John Lewis with Alan Hicks as pianist. This recording was made at Flat Rock Studios, Sydney, on 28 August 2018. The work is performed in the spirit of the time with some changes made for the modern ear.

Chris Latham, producer of this recording, notes: 'There is nothing about this song that is Turkish. The melody is harmonic which is not Turkish. People must have liked the dramatic effect of this piece.'
