Description
Studio portrait of (517) Private Alfred Stephen Moore, 43rd Battalion. Born in England, and a nurseryman prior to the outbreak of war, Pte Moore enlisted on 15 November 1915 and embarked from Adelaide, South Australia, on board (A19) HMAT Afric on 9 June 1916. He served on the Western Front and was killed in action on 9 June 1917. Pte Moore is buried in Strand Military Cemetery, Ploegsteert, Belgium.
