Description
Crew of a mosquito bomber of 464 Squadron RAAF, based at RAF station, Gravesend, after returning from a night intruder mission over the invasion areas in Western Europe. Shown left to right are 417898, Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) Ronald Stephen Seaman, Navigator of McLaren Vale SA, and 423636, Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) John Hamilton Carter, pilot, of Westmead, NSW. Both men were later killed during operations by Mosquito aircraft over the Ruhr in Germany on the night of February 2, 1945. They are buried in the Reichswald Forest Cemetery near Kleves, Germany.
