Description

Green painted case made from heavy duty galvanised steel; with a steel frame at the base and lined with heavy duty cardboard on the inside. The case is reinforced by a rivetted band around the middle; there is an upper and lower steel loop for securing the load and a steel handle on the lid.

Written in texta on the front are: "TO / COLOURFILMS PTY LTD / 35 MISSENDEN RD / CAMPERDOWN / N.S.W' and 'ATTENTION / ELLEN O'BRIEN / FOR JOHN MCLEAN / PRODUCTIONS'. On the lid are the words 'FROM AUSTRALIA / WAR MEMORIAL' and 'STORE IN / COOL PLACE / FILMS SAFETY BASE / NON FLAM'.

This case was used by the Australian War Memorial's Film and Sound section to transport film for copying to Sydney.
