Collection relating to 868 Private Arthur Leslie Healy, 21st Battalion
Description
Outdoor informal group portrait of three soldiers and dog in front of tent. Identified in the centre is 868 Private Arthur Leslie Healy, 21st Battalion. A painter from Preston, Victoria, Healy enlisted on 6 January 1915, aged 19 years. Following training, he embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ulysses on 8 May 1915. Pte Healy was killed in action aboard HMT Southland, near Mudros on 2 September 1915, the direct result of an explosion. He was buried at East Mudros Cemetery, Lemnos.
